Lovable app not showing up on Google: SEO for single-page apps
Your Lovable site is live but not in Google results, or shares show no preview. How Lovable's rendering works and the steps that actually get you indexed.
Why it happens
Older Lovable projects are React + Vite single-page apps: the server sends a mostly empty page and the browser builds the content with JavaScript. Lovable says it serves pre-rendered HTML of published pages to verified crawlers (Google, Bing, AI search and social preview bots), but content that loads late may be missing, and unverified tools see an almost empty page.
Newer Lovable projects use TanStack Start with server-side rendering, so every visitor and crawler gets full HTML. Older projects can be upgraded.
Even with good rendering, new sites are often simply not submitted to Google yet, are missing page titles and descriptions, have no sitemap, or are only on the lovable.app address instead of a custom domain.
How to fix it, step by step
- Publish your latest changes. Google only sees the live site.
- Connect a custom domain and set it as primary, so ranking builds on a domain you own.
- Give every page a unique title and meta description, plus Open Graph tags for share previews.
- Make sure you have a sitemap.xml and robots.txt that does not block crawlers.
- Verify your site in Google Search Console and submit the sitemap. Lovable's SEO review can do this for you from the Analytics / SEO & AI search section.
- Use Search Console's URL Inspection tool to see what Google actually renders for a page. If important content is missing, load it with the page rather than after delays or clicks.
- For content-heavy marketing sites on an older project, consider Lovable's upgrade to TanStack Start (server-side rendering). Review it in preview; you can revert from version history.
Paste-ready prompt for Lovable
Help my site get indexed by Google. Please: 1. Run an SEO review of the published site. 2. Give every route a unique <title>, meta description, canonical URL, and Open Graph/Twitter tags. 3. Create or fix sitemap.xml (all public pages, using my custom domain) and robots.txt (allow crawling, link the sitemap). 4. Make sure the main text content of each public page loads with the page, not only after user clicks or long delays. 5. Tell me whether this project uses TanStack Start (SSR) or React + Vite, and whether upgrading would help. Then walk me through verifying the site in Google Search Console and submitting the sitemap.
FAQ
How long until Google shows my site?
It varies. Submitting a sitemap in Search Console helps, but Google decides when to crawl and index. Use URL Inspection to request indexing for key pages.
Can ChatGPT and other AI tools read my Lovable site?
Lovable says it serves pre-rendered pages to verified AI search crawlers and a Markdown version to clients that request it.
